Heartburn
Everyone will experience heartburn at some time in their lives. However, chronic heartburn over time can damage the lining of the esophagus and cause more serious problems. Simple lifestyle changes can provide relief. For instance, avoid food or drink that may aggravate symptoms such as tomatoes, fried food, and caffeinated, alcoholic or citrus drinks. Eat smaller meals. Try six small meals a day instead of three large ones. Eat slower to allow your food more time to digest and avoid eating two to three hours before bedtime. If necessary, take an antacid. If symptoms persist or worsen, call your doctor.
